Based at The Collider in Asheville, North Carolina, Amanda Rycerz supports Acclimatise’s work on climate services and communications.
She supports Acclimatise’s work with NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI), where she leads research on applications of climate and weather data across sectors, and synthesizes this information into non-technical, user-friendly reports for a policy audience.
Amanda has leveraged her experience in documentary filmmaking to produce several short documentaries for NCEI, which illustrate how various sectors -- including reinsurance, agriculture and more -- utilize NCEI data to bolster their bottom line and mitigate the impacts of climate change.
Amanda also supports a range of communications projects, and is an occasional contributor to the Network.
Amanda holds an MSc in Environmental Development from the London School of Economics. Prior to her graduate studies her love of animals took her to the Bolivian Amazon where she volunteered with a local conservation initiative.
A Polish-Canadian national, Amanda is trilingual in Polish, Spanish and English.
