MARCH 20, 5:30 - 8PM: JOIN THE COLLIDER FOR A SPECTACULAR EVENING OF COOL CONNECTIONS & HOT IDEAS IN CLIMATE CITY!
The public is invited to a not-to-be-missed evening celebrating climate action and inspired innovation, sponsored by the Economic Development Coalition of Asheville - Buncombe County. Here's what you can expect:
* ROUSING REMARKS from the writer and activist identified by the EPA as a "climate saver" (and by his family as a "goofy global warming guy").
Named a "global warming innovator" by Time magazine, Auden Schendler is Vice President of Sustainability at Aspen Skiing Company and board chair of Protect Our Winters. A writer, activist, and speaker, Auden works on scale solutions to climate change, and has published widely on both his successes and failures in that battle.
Previously at Rocky Mountain Institute, Auden has testified to Congress on the impacts of climate change. His book Getting Green Done was called “an antidote to greenwash” by NASA climatologist James Hansen. We welcome him to Climate City to speak on "The Case for Meaningful Action on Climate Change."
* A SHOWCASE OF SOLUTIONS: Products and services for a changing climate, developed by inspired innovators in Climate City.
Here's a fun fact: Some of the most amazing innovation in the world is happening right here in Asheville, North Carolina. The entrepreneurs who are members of The Collider will demonstrate their products and services at something of an amped-up science fair that we're calling the Climate Solutions Showcase.
Are you a business owner? Find out how to use climate data to make better decisions. Are you an idea person? Discover how these innovators got started in developing their solutions. Just curious and care about the climate? You'll be amazed at what you'll see and learn.
* NETWORKING with an amazing collection of climate, business, and sustainability leaders from across the country.
Where else can you meet top professionals from forward-thinking organizations like Hewlett Packard, Levi Strauss, IBM, Aon, Interface, NOAA, Project Drawdown, VF, Innovim, StatWeather, the Climate Collaborative, and Acclimatise (just to name a few...)?
This evening is a signature event of ClimateCon 2018, so the attendees and speakers at ClimateCon's Business of Climate Forum will be present. But we're opening it up to the public as well, providing an exceptional opportunity for community members to be part of North Carolina's first conference on the business of conference.
* LEARNING, CONNECTING, CELEBRATING over a Highland Brewing craft beer (or two)!
As if all that weren't enough, this event will be held at North Carolina's largest native craft brewer, Highland Brewing Company, which also holds the distinction as the largest family-owned brewery in the Southeast.
Best of all, Highland Brewing is powered by the 3rd largest craft brewing solar array in the U.S. (and 13th in the world!). Now that's something to cheer about.
Tickets will go fast! Get yours today!
